Here, the picture clarity is much sharper than 1080p and also quite taxing on the system specs. Currently, it is a far more viable option compared to 4K gaming and you will get a much smoother experience as well. 2K gaming is cheaper and also you would get a better overall experience as well. Gaming at 30 FPS in 4K is not as good as 100 FPS in 2K.
Yes; you can use your 240 Hz refresh rate monitor using specific HDMI cables, for instance, HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0a, and HDMI 2.0. These cables are compatible with 1080p and 1440p but on an 8-bit monitor. Running your 240Hz monitor on these cables results in a smoother experience and clearer and sharper images, primarily when gaming.
1080P or 1440P on a 4K 144Hz monitor should not be an issue. There is always an option to turn down the in-game resolution to 2K and still, the gameplay looks absolutely fine on the 4K monitor. Also during streaming, the streaming software such as OBS, Stream Labs etc will be able to scale the output resolution.
Still, there is no doubt that 1440p video or gaming provides a better visual experience than 1080p. You can even see the difference in the screenshots above. And, of course, you can absolutely watch a 1440p video on a 1080p screen. It might make it look that little bit better, too, but you won't get the full 1440p experience as there are simply

720p to 1440p has the advantage of just being a 2x multiplier, whereas 1080p is a 1.333 multiplier. If they use Nearest Neighbor for 720p -> 1440p, then they can just replace each pixel with four of the same pixel and get the same image, but larger. 1080p would have to use something like Bilinear or Bicubic, which just kinda stretches the image.
Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View". Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View". To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save". Best regards, Maria R.
Mar 29, 2016. Its not possible, although cables are able to allow 1080p 120hz, that monitors panel is set to run at 60hz. You could try to over clock the monitor, but I doubt you'd get over 75hz. Edit: 24" 4k monitors are also said to have scaling issues. If I were you, go 1080p 144hz or if you can afford it, 1440p 144hz.
