In Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, there are two types of passive income: workshops and caravans. Both types of businesses are available to any player at any time in the game. They are costly, especially at the beginning of the game, so itโ€™s worth thinking twice before investing the first 15-20 thousand dinars in your business. 7 workshops here 3-4k a day. I noticed income from workshops increases with prosperity of town! (and I only bought workshops from towns I own) Oh, and these workshops only provide goods like equipment, velvet etc. No food workshops. (havent tried actually). I can imagine with the millions of grain available each town a brewery might work super They balanced it so businesses make a reasonable amount of money. I get around 200 - 400 denars per day for each brewery I build. That's really not reasonable, for 14k~ that's nearly 70 days at least for a return. By then you will probably have a castle or town. Workshops aren't meant to be able to sustain your 100 man elite army. Definitely a NO. Never buy two of the same workshops in one city. I built two wood workshops in a town where there was constantly ~300 of cheap wood (like 13g per piece). After the first one was built the average amount of wood in the town dropped to 200, and the average price got up to 20g. The economy in 1.8 is vastly different than anything we have seen. This has caused workshops to behave a bit differently. this is a simple process to assure you make money. Watch my workshop video, it is time stamped for each kingdom so you can see all towns in the kingdom quickly. 1.8 Workshop Video I never ever ever ever look at my workshop to see what it is making. I just want it to be higher than ZERO. if it is higher than zero. I'm happy. I'm getting a renown. Late game. Workshops can pump out BIG money.. your 7 workshops can make 5k per day or more. Thats decent.. Sadly, this is also when u get in a big army vs army fight.. and u If current capital is less than 10000, then your workshop is not making enough to cover cost of materials + wages. Last, DON'T BUY A BREWERY. Since patch 1.9 the game is flooded with breweries at the start because grain is available everywhere, and so beer ends up being extremely cheap all over the map. You can literally just spend hours murdering looters by yourself and make plenty. Once you start massacring enemy lords the denars just roll in. Workshops/Caravans/Fiefs are basically inconsequential. If you still need more money then start working on your smithing. Sell javelins for 10k each or make a fancy two-handed sword and sell it for 60k. .
